| It just wouldn't be exciting without some drama right?
After a nice relaxing morning dynoing Supras it was time for the Dyno Invitational. Tony Orta kicked things off by throwing down what may be the highest horsepower out of a 7M-GTE with nearly 825whp! WOW! Way to go Tony!
Then we had a break as our next Dyno Invitational participants weren't able to make it out for one reason or another.
Saad Saad finally showed up (actually on time even) and spewed coolant and oil all over the shop on his second pass.
And then we had a break as we had no more Invitational participants.
Finally Ryan and Cody showed up. Cody was up first and smoked out the shop on his first pull. Without identifying the source of the smoke they made a second pass and showered the spectators standing behind the car with chunks of rubber as the tire was shredded when it made contact with the ground or the wheel-well or both. One comment overheard was that the car was strapped down too low on the roller. The other comment was that the air pressure in the tire was way too low. Either way it made for some quick heartbeats.
Ryan was the last one on the rollers this year and quickly proved that even though Dynojet claimed the system would handle over 1200hp the system had not been tested since the upgrade. Even being cut off at 1200 Ryan still set an all-time record for the highest horsepower at any Supras Invade Las Vegas event. |
