In the days leading up to the drags the local weather forecast was predicting a 30% chance of isolated thunder storms. Of course this must have perked everyone's ears as all day Friday I kept hearing questions about what do we do if it rains?
I made a few phone calls and agreed to take Mother Nature someplace nice for dinner if she held the rains back until we were done with the drags.
Throughout the evening we were treated to a spectacular light show as the lightning bounced off the mountains in the distance - but no rain fell on the track. This allowed us to complete our racing all the way through to the end of the finals.
This was some of our most exciting drag racing ever. As is always the way with racing the heavy favorites were not necessarily standing on the top when the smoke cleared. Check the results below for the results of each class, round by round.
I don't know if I didn't define "done with the drags" well enough... or if Mother Nature caught me fooling around with her sister in the minivan before we could present the awards because the heavens finally opened up and the rain was intense! I think at one point I saw Noah running for his ark.
